Dr. Won Hyuk Suh is an Assistant Professor of Biotechnology (Department of Life Sciences) at the College of Professional Studies, University of New Hampshire, Manchester. His areas of expertise in research and scholarship are synthetic biomaterials and cellular engineering. Dr. Suh's teaching duties at CPS@UNH include Advanced Therapies (BIOT 755/855), Numerical & Statistical Analysis in Biotechnology (BIOT 760/860), Stem Cell & Biomaterials Engineering Lab (BIOT 770/870), and Pluripotent Stem Cell Lab (BIOT 772/872). The specific areas of research include cell penetrating peptide (CPP) structures, polymeric hydrogels, and nanostructured particles that are specifically developed for human stem cell engineering and cancer treatment-related work. Dr. Suh's research areas have focused on synthetic chemical structures and stem cell engineering and they have translational and transformative potentials. Three major research accomplishments are the development of (1) a new cell penetrating peptide system, (2) 3D polymeric hydrogels for human neural stem cell engineering, and (3) particle systems in the nano-to-micrometer length scales. During the past decade, Dr. Suh has published 15+ articles.
