Overview

  • Wei Wei is an assistant professor of decision sciences at Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. Wei’s research interests fall in the domains of sustainable operations management and nonprofit operations. Her research helps government agencies and nonprofit organizations (nonprofits) improve their operational decisions (e.g., budgetary allocation) under socially responsible goals (e.g., United Nations Sustainable Development Goals).

Currently, Wei has been working on papers involving subsidy welfare programs (e.g., housing rental programs and child care subsidy programs). These papers are motivated by her interactions and collaborations with government agencies (e.g., that oversee and administer the programs), nonprofits (e.g., that manage operations of the programs at the local level and assist participating individuals and service providers), and for-profit service providers (e.g., that provide essential services, including housing and child care). Her papers have been published by journals Manufacturing and Service Operations Management and Production and Operations Management.

Wei holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics and Decision Making from Fordham University, and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and applied mathematics from the Hefei University of Technology.
