Szu-Feng Chen is an artist, designer, and educator from Taiwan, where she received Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design from Taipei National University of the Arts. Szu-Feng serves as the Director of Design and Theatre Technology for the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of New Hampshire. Her interest in integrating unconventional materials in her creative artistry has led her to a 3R (recycle, reuse, reduce) approach in her design prcoess, and her passion for sustainable design practices in visual storytelling. Szu-Feng has worked and collaborated with artists around the world for over a hundred theatrical productions. Her design works and research have been presented in exhibitions and conferences including World Stage Design in Canada (2022), South Korea (2009), and Canada (2005), Chinese-American Art Fac-ulty Symposium (2019), the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (2015, 2014, 2010), Prague Quadrennial (2007, 2003), and Beijing Annual Theater Art Exhibition (2002). She re-ceived the Gold Sustainability Award (2021), Outstanding Assistant Professor Award (2014) at UNH, and was awarded the Outstanding Alumnna of School of Theatre from Taiepi National University of the Arts (2012).
