Curriculum Changes to Impact the Workforce Response to the Public Health Opioid Crisis

Abstract

  • Opioid use disorder is a national public health crisis that can be addressed in primary care with training family nurse practitioner students. To ensure graduates of the UNH FNP program have knowledge required to treat individuals with opioid use disorder. Students received clinical experience, didactic education and case based knowledge through project ECHO to increase their knowledge and confidence in the treatment of patients with opioid used disorder. Data will be presented related to impact these interventions have on student knowledge.
