Emergency services can take a physical and emotional toll on providers. Long hours, interrupted sleep, and irregular eating habits are part of an unhealthy lifestyle. This leads to a depression and suicide rate for safety professionals of twice the national rate. Chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease plague this population. Recent advances in chronobiology as well as diet and exercise education can make a tremendous difference in health and wellbeing in this population. In this session, we will examine techniques to combat the negative effects of our 24/7 world for a healthier and happier life.
