Solomon Maingi, PhD., has research and teaching interests in the political economy of development and conflict. He is particularly interested in the geographical dynamics of conflict, environmental crises, and migration. Maingi's training and initial research interests were grounded in social theory, the politics of access, and environmental conflict with a focus on understanding the vulnerability of rural agrarian communities, the dynamics of subsistence, and environmental crises in sub-Saharan Africa.
