Michael Annicchiarico received his Ph.D. and M.F.A. in composition from Brandeis University, and his B.M. in music theory from the University of New Hampshire. He was promoted to full professor at UNH in 2014, where he teaches composition, music theory, ear training, and arranging. Professor Annicchiarico has composed works for film, orchestra, band, chorus and chamber ensembles, and has arranged numerous pieces for jazz bands, choirs and chamber ensembles. His music has been performed by the Rutgers University Symphony Band and the University of Ohio Wind Ensemble, and his jazz arrangements have been performed by such groups as Our Big Band of Maine and the Jazz Heritage Orchestra of Cleveland. The UNH Wind Symphony (Andrew Boysen, conductor) recorded all his wind ensemble music in 2015, and produced a CD available from Mark Masters. In the summer of 2017 Our Big Band recorded all of Mike’s Wayne Shorter arrangements with an eye toward producing a CD some time in 2018. Currently, Mike is at work on The Reporter’s War, an opera about World War II.
