An expert in coach development and coaching education, coaching philosophy, and leadership development, Dr. Collins joined the UNH Faculty in 2002. In addition to her faculty role at UNH, Dr. Collins has served as the Sport Studies Program Coordinator, College of Health and Human Services Faculty Fellow for Teaching Excellence, and a Sport Psychology Consultant for the Department of Athletics. A recipient of the CHHS Teaching Excellence Award and the Jean C Brierley Award for Excellence in College Teaching, Dr. Collins has recently added coaching in faculty development to her research related activities. Having served in her previous roles as Chair of Kinesiology and the Director of the Leadership Development Program for female-student athletes, Dr. Collins recently has been appointed as the Director of Faculty Development in the College of Health and Human Services. Prior to her career in higher education, Dr. Collins coached collegiately at Princeton University, Dartmouth College, and UNH, as well as in the youth development program for USFHA. As a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance Positive Youth Sport Development Council, Dr. Collins aims to create positive sport experiences for all. Dr. Collins has a doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, MS in Kinesiology from UNH, and an AB in Sociology from Princeton University.
