Jing Wang, PhD, RN, FAAN. I am passionate about global research, education, and practice aimed at facilitating transdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaborations to improve the well-being of older adults and their caregivers. I was selected as a 2022 fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) for my active leadership in research and service.
My interdisciplinary and international training in nursing and global health at Fudan University, Duke University, and UNC at Chapel Hill has prepared me well to lead qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method studies that focus on long-term care (LTC) and healthy aging. I have made contributions to the improvement of care quality, well-being, and health equity for persons with dementia and their caregivers through my active leadership engagement in research and my service as an executive committee member of professional societies and consultant for the government LTC oversight body. My passion and interest lie in understanding the relevance of person-centered care for older adults across settings and cultures. In particular, I am interested in understanding how older adults can be more meaningfully engaged in nurturing caring relationships that promote and maintain normality in their life.
