Overview

  • Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Dr. Pulecio obtained his M.A and Ph.D. degrees in Hispanic languages and literatures from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a Doctoral certificate in gender, sexuality and women’s studies. His interdisciplinary work addresses legal studies, literature and cultural studies. His dissertation “Polymorphous and Iterable: Sinners, Diseased and Criminals within the Cuban, Colombian and Puerto Rican Law and Literature” explores the ways in which queer/LGBT subjects were depicted across literature and arts while anti-sodomy laws were valid in the Caribbean. His work has been published in Revista Iberoamericana, Cuadernos del Hipogrifo, and Chasqui, among other interdisciplinary peer reviewed journals.
