Jenni Cook, received her Bachelor of Music degree from Bradley University and her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Illinois. Promoted to the rank of Full Professor in 2017, Professor Cook served as Chair of the Department of Music from 2016-2019 and currently serves as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at UNH. She has taught applied voice, diction for singers, voice pedagogy, music appreciation and opera workshop.
Prior to her appointment at UNH, Cook served as adjunct voice faculty at Millikin University, Eureka College, and Bradley University. Dr. Cook has sung operas, oratorios, and recitals across the United States and abroad in Austria, Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, and Wales. Professor Cook was one of thirty-seven invited foreign experts to give a lecture on performance in music education for the 1st International Week: Global View, Integrated Culture Conference at Chengdu University in China.
Professor Cook established two student exchanges abroad in music, one with Cardiff University in Wales and one with the University of São Paolo in Ribeirão-Preto, Brazil. Cook is also a licensed teacher of the somatic discipline Body Mapping with Andover Educators (www.bodymap.org). She has recorded three CDs: Six Women, Live at McLean Chapel, and Terra e Granito.
