Ms. Alperin received her Ed.M. in Policy, Planning and Administration from Boston University, her B.S. in Health Education/Health Promotion from Central Michigan University, and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). With over 20 years in public health and education, Ms. Alperin has has presented and worked with schools at the local, state, national and international levels with a focus on improving health and academic outcomes of students through strong school health policies and programs.
Specifically, her interests include:
Implementing a skills-based approach in the health education classroom
Strengthening local policies to support health & academic success
Building capacity of schools to implement quality health education, physical education, and physical activity programs
Joining the UNH faculty in 2016, Ms. Alperin teaches courses related to health education within the Health and Physical Education option. Prior to her UNH appointment, she worked for 16 years at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in a variety of roles related to improving school health environments and practices.
