Overview

  • Daniel Silverman is a seasoned industry professional with a strong background in Information Technology and application design. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Decision Sciences at the University of New Hampshire since 2013, Daniel instructs courses such as Management Information Systems, Leveraging Technology for Competitive Advantage, and E-Business. His curriculum is comprehensive and includes a wide variety of relevant topics including Information Systems & Integration, Systems Analysis and Software Development, Spreadsheet Analysis, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence.

    Daniel served as the FTMBA Program Director from 2015 to 2021, and directed and advised the Full-Time MBA internship course from 2018 to 2023. Daniel was also a Faculty Fellow with the Center for Business Analytics from 2022 - 2023.

    Prior to his academic career, Daniel held influential roles in the field of software engineering and IT consulting. From 1998 to 2018, he worked for Critical Resource Technology as a Software Engineer and VP of Engineering & Development, where he negotiated contracts, advised in corporate strategy, and was instrumental in generating significant revenues. He also served as Consultant and Team Leader for the New York State Department of Health between 2009 and 2012. He was involved in several high-profile software projects for the US Navy, Ryder System, and Home Depot. Daniel holds an MBA from the University of New Hampshire and was a Fellow in the Engineering Systems Division at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt, a CompTia IT Project+, a SilverStream Field Application Engineer, and holds IEEE Security+ certification.

    Daniel also has a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), an area in which he holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Graduate Certificate from the State University of New York at Albany. Daniel's expertise in GIS was honed during his tenure at Ryder Systems where he was involved in the development and support of the client-server Market Activity Planning System, a tool that leveraged GIS technology for territory design and market planning strategies. He was also recognized as the chief GIS expert at Ryder Systems. His time as a software instructor for MapInfo Corporation further enhanced his ability to implement GIS technology in diverse fields including government, real estate, insurance, and banking.
