My current project focuses on the youngest students with hearing loss. The Preschool Sign Language Pilot Program was launched in the fall of 2016. This is a hybrid program and a first of its kind in New Hampshire. The program provides a trained family sign language provider who teaches ASL to children with hearing loss ranging in ages 5-7years old. Instruction happens in the school as well as the home setting. At home the entire family is involved in learning how to sign. Access to language is critical especially during the formative years.
