When I’m not teaching at UNH, I provide educational consultation to public and private schools in New Hampshire. I have been a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the past 32 years and have worked with students from 3 to 21 years of age. Over the years I have been involved with many committees hosted by the New Hampshire Department of Education related to improving the education Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in NH. I was also one of the contributors to the NH Guidelines for Educating Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students, which was published and distributed to every Special Education Director in NH.
My current project focuses on the youngest students with hearing loss. The Preschool Sign Language Pilot Program was launched this fall. This is a hybrid program and a first of its kind in New Hampshire.
