Overview

  • My research, clinical, and teaching focus is on speech development in children. In particular, I’ve studied the timing of speech events such as syllables, words, sentences, and pauses in order to better understand typical and atypical speech development. Projects have included studies of children with delayed speech and language, as well as children with dyslexia. I’ve supervised student research projects over a variety of topics including voice disorders, normal language development, and gender-related issues in the diagnosis of language disorders.
